The Nursery: Inspiration and Decoration with Elodie

Whether it's a small or a large nursery for one or more children... a cosy bedroom makes bedtime just that bit more fun! Elodie has loads of great accessories to decorate your baby or toddler's bedroom. Here you can discover some tips and ideas!

Theme

Start at the beginning: the walls. If your baby hasn't been born yet or if they're still too small to have an opinion, go for neutral colours and prints. Use a maximum of 2 or 3 colours that go well together.

Try to avoid bright colours in the bedroom. A colour like red, for example, is known to activate the brain, making it harder to fall asleep. Green, on the other hand, is a colour that calms you down.

Get advice from your local decorating shop and pick out wallpaper samples or buy sample paint pots to experiment with. You'll also often find lots of brochures there full of fun nursery paint ideas!

Furniture

In your local children's shop you can find a complete nursery set, which includes a cot bed, a changing table and a wardrobe. But maybe you prefer to put everything together yourself? Pinterest is the perfect platform for gathering inspiration!

The 3-in-1 House by Elodie is a very cool piece of children's furniture that grows with your child. First you use it as a baby gym, then as a play house and finally it can even be transformed into a clothes rack!

Play mat

Both you and your child will spend a lot of time on the floor, so make sure you have a nice play rug that is comfortable to sit on! This can be a thick rug or a padded play mat.

It is important it's soft, since your child, especially when they're small, will occasionally hit their head on the floor. The Elodie play mats are not just super soft, but also reversible. This way you can create a new accessory in an instant and give your nursery a new look!

Cute storage ideas

Sooner or later, there will be hundreds of toys lying around your home. It's a good idea to store the majority of the toys away. This way you can rotate them regularly, helping your child to stay interested in each toy. A large storage basket is not just incredibly practical, but it looks great too!

It's all in the (Elodie) details!

Once you've covered the basics, you can start looking for nice decorations, accessories and textiles. A cute music toy, a cuddly toy or comforter, and a beautiful duvet cover set with matching cover or muslin blanket make the nursery complete!

Mix and match your favourite Elodie products and transform your little one's room into the cosiest corner of the house!
