Extra comfort in the car for older children
The latest Beyond² 360 car seat is an improved version of the BeSafe Beyond 360. This new car seat is also equipped with an Ergo Cushion and is certified as back-friendly by AGR.
Why the Ergo Cushion?
The Ergo Cushion™ offers extra comfort for older children by placing cushion inserts in the backrest pockets, supporting their lumbar spine. This is especially important for children aged approximately 3/4 to 7 years, when their spine is in a phase of pronounced hollow back (lumbar lordosis).
When is it useful?
From birth to 4 years of age, it is not useful to use this cushion. You can store the cushion in the storage compartments provided for this purpose in the side panels of the cover. A “storage space” is provided for this purpose.
From 4 to 6 years of age, the cushion is certainly useful. The Ergo Cushion label is visible when the headrest is set higher than 105 cm.
Is it mandatory to use?
No, it is not mandatory to use the Ergo Cushion. It is an optional comfort feature, which parents can choose to use or not.
The only requirement is to remove the cushion from the “storage compartment” when the seat is set above 105 cm.
How do I use the cushion?
- Remove the cushion from the storage compartments on the side of the cover.
- Place 1 cushion in each pocket, ensuring that they overlap with a gentle curve.
- You can also choose to use only one of the two cushions (in the lower or upper pocket).
- You can also put both cushions in the upper/lower pocket.
Why is back support necessary?
The back muscles develop between the ages of 4 and 6. During this phase, the back is hollow, with strong back muscles and relatively weaker abdominal muscles.
It is tiring for the back muscles when there is no support during this phase. The Ergo cushion provides support for this. It fills in the “hollow back”.
