Frequently asked questions
BeSafe
After a rear-facing child seat has been installed, slide the front seat back so that it makes contact with the child seat, in order to prevent the child seat from striking the front seat in the event of a collision. If it is not possible to make contact between the front seat and the child seat, the minimum distance should be 25 cm.
When children are buckled up with the vehicle seat belt, they often feel that the shoulder belt is ‘uncomfortable’, leading to a risk of positioning the shoulder belt incorrectly to avoid discomfort, e.g. by placing it underneath their arm. To avoid this risk of misuse and to increase comfort, the PAD+ softens the edge of the vehicle seat belt, padding it. Additionally, it also actively increases safety by acting as a cushioning bumper between the child’s chin and chest.
Yes, with its two installation straps, you can tightly install this accessory around different vehicle headrest shapes.
No, the BeSafe Belt Guard is only to be used with BeSafe toddler seats.
The BeSafe iZi Flex FIX i-Size is certified with and without the usage of the ISOfix anchorage. If available, it’s always better to use the ISOfix anchorage since it secures the seat better when there is no child in the seat (and the vehicle belt is not used to secure the seat without child). The safety performance is almost the same with or without the usage of the ISOfix anchorage.
The iZi Flex S Fix is a slightly scaled-down version of the premium iZi Flex Fix i-Size that was launched in March 2018. iZi Flex Fix i-Size has 4 features that iZi Flex S Fix does not have: the SIP+, PAD+, adjustable recline positions and the lap belt guider. All other aspects, e.g. the space-adjustability or the seat dimensions, are identical between both seats.
Yes, in order to be able to facilitate several seats or people next to each other in a vehicle, the SIP bumpers of iZi Flex (S) Fix can be detached. However, we recommend you to always keep the outer SIP bumper facing the vehicle door attached when having iZi Flex (S) Fix installed on an outer vehicle seat position for an optimal safety performance. In addition, we recommend you to also attach the SIP+ onto the SIP bumper facing the vehicle door if there is space available for additional side impact protection.
In the UN R129 regulation, the classification has changed from kilograms to centimetres, since parents often know more accurately how tall their child is. This makes it easier to choose the right (and safest) seat.
When installing an iZi Flex Fix i-Size on an outer vehicle seat, you can take the inner SIP bumper off in order to be able to fit several seats/people next to each other. When installing an iZi Flex Fix i-Size in the middle position in the vehicle, both SIP bumpers can be taken off if you would like to place other seats/people next to the iZi Flex Fix i-Size on both sides. When installing an iZi Flex Fix i-Size in the middle position in the vehicle but are only placing another seat/person next to it on one side, we recommend you to keep the other SIP bumper on the iZi Flex Fix i-Size.
The iZi Flex Fix i-Size is approved in UN R129-02 without any additional SIP+ or SIP bumpers (at the inside of the vehicle). The SIP bumpers and the SIP+ improve the side impact performance and should always be used at the door side of the vehicle. Only when a third CRS is used in the middle position of the vehicle, may the SIP bumper be taken off, but only at the inside of the vehicle and not at the door-side. The possibility to install three iZi Flex Fix i-Size seats in a row depends mainly on the car, and where the ISOfix anchorages are mounted in the seat of the car. If possible, use ISOfix for all three of the seats; this is normally only feasible in a vehicle with three separate vehicle seats in the second row. If there is less space, or if there are only two ISOfix anchorages placed a bit out of line, you can use the BeSafe iZi Flex Fix i-Size seats in combination with the vehicle belts only.
The PAD+ should always be positioned around the vehicle’s belt between the chest and the chin of the child. This gives the best safety performance.
In BeSafe, we always look for the best solutions and we design our car seats for real-life situations – not only for pre-defined tests in a laboratory. Our experiences and tests have shown that the SIPs and the SIP+ give the child improved safety because they significantly reduce the load on the child if a side impact should occur. Although the BeSafe iZi Flex Fix i-Size is approved without them, you should always aim for the best safety for yourself and for your child. Therefore, we recommend that you always use the removable SIPs and SIP+ on the iZi Flex Fix i-Size towards the car door, as long as there is space available.
The iZi Flex Fix i-Size offers generous possibilities for adjustments, to fit children from 100 to 150 cm in height. The booster seat is also easily adjusted to the child’s height by use of one of the handles – there is one handle on each side so you can adjust it from any side. This can be done with the child sitting in the seat, so you can adjust it accurately and quickly. The headrest should be adjusted so the vehicle seat belt is guided 90 degrees through the shoulder belt guiders, over the child’s shoulders. You can also adjust the reclining feature of the iZi Flex Fix i-Size for a perfect sitting position – this must be done before you put on the seat belt, in order to avoid slack in the seat belt. The seat belt should be tightened properly, and the lap belt guider will put the seat belt in the right position over the child’s body.
The lapbelt guider is optional to use as it only indirectly impacts the child’s safety. A child who is correctly placed in the seat travels safely with or without using it. However BeSafe’s recommendation is to always use it as we always recommend to use all precautions to minimize any safety risks.
Yes, the BeSafe iZi Flex Fix i-Size can absolutely be used without the ISOfix installed. But when ISOfix is available, you can use the ISOfix for securing the booster seat perfectly, even without a child sitting in it.
Yes, we have designed the PAD+ so it can be perfectly installed both on the left and right sides.
The ‘i-Size’ regulations are a set of child restraint seat regulations, developed by the United Nations. These are the newest, most comprehensive regulations for child seats, that are meant to make it easier and safer to buy the correct car seat for your child. The i-Size regulations are stricter than older regulations, and are also designed to make it easier for consumers to find a car seat that will fit in their cars.
The PAD+ is installed around the vehicle´s shoulderbelt, as high as possible – so it touches the headrest.
Our recommendation is to remove the body hugger when the child is approx. 2 years old, but for some children, it can also be removed earlier or can stay in for longer. If you are unsure if you should continue using the body hugger, we recommend you to have your child sit in the seat with and without, and compare in which variant there is a better fit of the internal harness over the child’s body.
This seat fits onto the iZi Modular i-Size base. There are no changes done to the base itself so that all versions of this seat fit onto the same base.
Children are significantly more flexible than adults, so just because something might look uncomfortable to us adults does not mean that it is uncomfortable for children. In fact, many children find it more comfortable in rear-facing seats, as they can rest their legs against the back of the vehicle seat. When sitting forward-facing, the child’s legs would be dangling down, resulting in strain on the joints and bones. Similarly, imagine sitting on a bar chair without putting your feet on the foot support but having your legs dangling – this typically also becomes uncomfortable for adults after a while. It is five times safer to sit in a rear-facing position than in a forward-facing position and we recommend that your child sits in the absolute safest position – in a rear-facing child car seat – as long as possible.
Only front airbags are hazardous to child car seats, as they are thrust into the passenger compartment. All types of side airbags and side curtain airbags are restricted from entering the passenger compartment and therefore do not negatively affect the child car seat. Thus, they should stay activated.
A loose internal harness can be extremely dangerous, particularly with forward-facing seats. The harness must be securely tightened and a belt guard may be used to hold the harness together, where necessary.
ISOfix is a system for fitting child seats in cars. The system comprises two rigid metal anchor points located in the gap between the back and sitting section of the car seat. Child seats with ISOfix contain two ISOfix arms that slot into these metal anchor points. The child seat also has a third point of support, usually in the form of a support leg that rests against the car floor. Child seats with ISOfix are generally very easy to install, significantly minimizing the risk of incorrect use. Experience would suggest that a high proportion of traditional child seats are incorrectly installed and an incorrectly installed child seat can create a false sense of security. The ISOfix system offers a heightened level of safety as the risk of a child seat being incorrectly installed is minimal.
Once it has been installed, the angle of the child seat varies according to its angle and shape. It is generally advisable for the child to be sitting as upright as possible in the event of a collision (because the collision forces are then dissipated more evenly throughout the body). However, if the child is sitting too upright, its head will roll forwards. This problem may be resolved by installing the seat so tightly that some of the air in the padding – and thus, the improper angle/shape – is removed: Remove the locking bolt on the support leg. Place one hand on top of the seat and press firmly so that the support leg is shortened by a notch or two. Tighten with a ratchet (and anchor belts, if it is a belt-installed seat) so that the support leg is resting firmly on the floor and the seat is completely rigid. Replace the locking bolt. Start the installation from scratch, if necessary.
In some cars, the Isofix brackets are fitted very deep. In such cases, it may be advantageous to hold the base at an angle of around 45 degrees as it slots in. This will provide better access to the brackets. It should be noted that Isofix brackets that have been fitted deeply may give the base an improper angle. In extreme cases, it may be better to install the seat without the base.
I-size offers a more complete and up-to-date set of safety criteria, which gives a better guarantee that i-size car seats are safe (for example side-impact criteria and measurement of head acceleration). The safety level of ECE r44 04 child safety seat can be at the same level when these criteria (amongst them: side-impact protection) have been taken into account with the design of these seats. To comply with i-size the child safety seat has to offer for example also long floor supports and special labels BeSafe child safety seat have been designed with side impact protection and to a high safety level and do offer a comparable safety level to i-size child safety seat.
We recommend to not start using BeSafe Haven™ before the child is 55 cm tall / approx. 1 month old.
The shape of the construction and the material combination give a good support to the back. It is important to adjust all straps for a good fit for both the parent and the child.
When the zipper at the top of the carrier is closed, the top part of the carrier supports the head on the outside. It is not necessarily required though to always close the head support part, as a younger baby naturally rests their head sideways against the parent's chest.
If the airflow is better with the head support folded down, it is not necessarily required to always close the head support part, as a younger baby naturally rests their head sideways against the parent's chest.
You should not turn your child outward facing before the age of 5 months. You should also make sure that you only do it for a limited time in the beginning and in calm surroundings. Also always keep contact with your baby by holding their hand or feet. It is good for babies to explore the world in a safe way with their parents close and without too many distractions around them.
When a rear facing child car seat is in touch with the car interior, it will be supported by the car interior during an impact, which gives an optimal crash performance. When this is not feasible, it's best to create significant distance between the interior and the child car seat to avoid an impact with the car interior when the child car seat will move during the crash. However, please note that these are recommendations for the ideal positions. If these cannot be achieved in your car, it is also fine to install it with getting as close to the ideal positions as possible. When a rear facing child car seat is in touch with the car interior, it will be supported by the car interior during an impact, which gives an optimal crash performance. SIP+ reduces the distance between the seat and the door of the vehicle. In this way the seat and the door will meet each other earlier in a side impact, resulting in less acceleration and absorption of the energy over a longer distance and earlier during the impact. SIP+ can lead to a reduction of 20% of the head acceleration values.
By being a separate part, you can easily move the SIP+ from side to side, so that you can use it no matter where you position the child seat in the car.
No, the SIP+ module is only usefull, when used between a vehcile door and the seat.
Children are significantly more pliable than adults, so just because something might look uncomfortable to us adults it does not have to be uncomfortable for children.
In fact, many children find it more comfortable in rear facing seats, as they can rest their legs against the back of the vehicle seat. When sitting forward facing, the child's legs would be dangling down, resulting in strain on the joints and bones.
It is five times safer to sit in a rear facing position than in a forward facing position and we recommend that your child sits in the absolute safest position – in a rear facing child car seat – as long as possible.
This seat has already passed the demanding crash test criteria of the UN R129 regulation without the SIP+, so that the SIP+ is not required to be used. If it is possible to fit it in-between the seat and vehicle door, we however recommend you to use it for even better side impact protection.
If there is not enough space in your vehicle to fit the SIP+ in-between the seat and the vehicle door, you do not need to use the SIP+. As the main function of the SIP+ is to reduce the distance between the seat and the vehicle door, you have no safety disadvantage by not being able to fit the SIP+, as you already have a reduced distance in your situation.
All three materials help in protecting a child in a side impact, yet their level of protection and way of working differ. Imagine falling from a great height. If you get to land on a trampoline that is perfectly adjusted to give you a gentle and controlled landing, this equals the Dynamic Force Absorber™.
If you land on a mattress, this equals soft foam. It also helps gently decelerating the fall but the deceleration is not as controlled as it can be on a adjusted trampoline.
If you land on a stack of cardboard boxes, this equals EPS. They deform a little bit, yet do not bend as much as the other materials do to break the fall and stay deformed after the impact. This way, cardboard boxes also have a shorter “distance of travel” during the deformation, which leads to a comparatively more abrupt halt.
No, it is not allowed to add something to the sides of the child, as the seat is not tested and approved this way. The seat has been tested thoroughly with various dummy sizes representing babies' measurements and has passed all tests successfully, so that adding more to the side is not needed for safety.
The guiding principle is after 60 cm or older than 4 months but can also be used a bit longer or removed a bit earlier, depending on the individual growth development of the baby.
Yes, the baby cushion [Newborn Hugger™] can be washed in one piece.
Only the BeSafe iZi Turn B i-Size and BeSafe iZi Go Modular X1 i-Size feature the same Newborn Hugger™ and have been tested and approved with it. For all other seats it is not allowed to use the Newborn Hugger™ in them.
Yes, this seat can be used forward facing on turned vehicle seats if it can be installed correctly according to its user manual. However, please check your vehicle user manual to see if child car seats in general are permitted to be used on the turned vehicle seats.
No, if a child is sitting in the seat, then the seat must always be in the locked rear facing or forward facing driving position. Never drive with a child in the seat if the seat is rotated to the side. Please note that the earliest the forward facing driving position may be used is when the child is taller than 88 cm and older than 15 months. BeSafe strongly recommends you though to keep your child rear facing throughout the whole time that you are using the seat.
Place one foot onto the bottom end of the floor support while lifting the base to make adjusting the length at this step easier.
The leg space of this seat is not adjustable but still quite large, especially when you put the seat more upright as the child grows older.
Due to being constructed for the worst-case scenarios of the most sloping vehicle seat angles, a gap beneath the base becomes visible in vehicles that have flatter seat angles. This gap might be unfamiliar and could give the assumption that the construction is less stable, as other child seats are typically resting on the vehicle seat cushion. However, this gap beneath the base is not a safety concern.
A vehicle seat cushion is not solid but made of soft materials. In a frontal impact - which is the most common source of serious injury for children - the vehicle seat cushion would compress anyway if pressure was on it, thus giving no stability or support to a child seat. Hence, even for child seats that are resting on the vehicle seat, forces are distributed through the support leg to the vehicle floor and/or through the ISOfix anchorages to the car body, and rotation is prevented through a support leg or top tether.
The UN regulation 129 does not require a child seat to rest on the vehicle seat cushion. Instead, the regulation specifies that the installation of the ISOfix anchorages has to be combined with either a support leg or a top tether to prevent frontal displacement of the seat in a frontal accident. This seat is equipped with a support leg for distributing the forces to the vehicle floor and preventing frontal displacement.
If you are having the baby insert [Baby Shell™] in the seat but no child is sitting in the seat, we recommend to close the internal harness nonetheless before driving, it is not mandatory though.
The baby insert [Baby Shell™] can be used until a maximum stature height of 87 cm. You can also remove the baby insert [Baby Shell™] a bit earlier but we would recommend using it all the way to 87 cm when it still fits the baby.
We would recommend not to remove the baby insert [Baby Shell™] before the child is at least 61 cm tall and can sit by himself/herself, and would in general advise to use the baby insert [Baby Shell™] as long as possible (max. stature height 87 cm).
If you want to remove the baby insert [Baby Shell™] earlier than 87 cm, please first try out if your child already sits well in the seat without the baby insert [Baby Shell™]- especially check the side stability, fit of the shoulder- and hip belts and the headrest position on top of the shoulders.
The recommendation is to use the baby insert [Baby Shell™] in the most reclined position of the seat but it’s fine to use it more upright, when this works better for the baby.
No, the baby insert [Baby Shell™] is only allowed to be used if the specific seat is approved together with it. iZi Twist and iZi Turn are approved from 61 cm on only, so it must not be used before and thus is only to be used with the included Two-Fit™ cushions.
To ensure that the baby insert [Baby Shell™] will stay in place and not become a loose object in an accident when no child is sitting in the seat, we have put great development efforts into constructing the harness guiding through the baby insert [Baby Shell™] in a way that it stays in place even if the harness is open and the seat is rotated to the side. We have confirmed this by crash-testing the seat rotated to the side and the harness being open when no child is sitting in it.
The Universal Level Technology™ has a special seat-and-base design that is constructed to always have the child seat on a horizontal level, no matter how steep the vehicle seat is. This allows for an optimal sitting angle for the child in almost any car.The Universal Level Technology™ has a special seat-and-base design that is constructed to always have the child seat on a horizontal level, no matter how steep the vehicle seat is. This allows for an optimal sitting angle for the child in almost any car.
Unlike many other 'inserts' that allow using a toddler seat from birth, the BeSafe Baby Shell™ is not just a set of cushions that is placed inside the big seat shell, but is a whole unit with an outer wall by itself. This way, it truly resembles the position and protection of a baby car seat that is placed inside the seat shell. The side walls of the Baby Shell™ are adding an extra layer of side impact protection and are also featuring the innovative Dynamic Force Absorber™ construction just like the seat's headrest.
No, the seat must always be pushed fully against the vehicle seat until the front brace is touching it. If one would leave the ISOfix arms further extended, the seat could not be installed tightly and would have too much side movement.
iZi Turn was launched later than iZi Twist. And since the main focus with the introduction of rotation seats was on Twist, it can also be that iZi Turn will not come to the test later.
But when used rear facing, which is our recommendation anyhow, iZi Turn is identical to iZi Twist and therefore on the same safety level.
Based on average size values, it is recommended to remove the cushion in the back of this seat when the child is over 2 years old. But you can also remove the cushion earlier if your child sits better in the seat and has an improved belt fit without the cushion.
No, you need to stop using when one of the seat's limitations are reached, whichever comes first.
For BeSafe it was important that this seat can accommodate as many children as possible to travel rear facing for longer and does not limit them by weight, which is why they chose for it to be belt-installed. With a belt-installed seat it is up to the manufacturer to determine the allowed maximum weight of the child.
During development they crash-tested the seat with a Q10 dummy which weighs 36 kg and achieved good crash test performance. In addition, they also crash-tested with a Q6 dummy (which weighs 23 kg) with added weight of 13 kg to have a total weight of 36 kg inside the seat, also resulting in a good crash test performance.
Therefore they know that the seat can very well support children up to a maximum weight of 36 kg.
It is good to note however that the maximum stature height of 125 cm also still applies, i.e. if a child has reached 125 cm, it must stop using this seat, even if it does not weigh 36 kg yet.
This seat is approved in the new R129-03 regulation, but not in the i-Size category within this regulation. That is because the i-Size category requires a seat to be installed with ISOfix and does not allow for it to be installed with lower tethers.
However, there is no disadvantage of having a seat that is approved as specific vehicle instead of i-Size, you just don't have the "plug and play" system with i-Size approved vehicle positions. We recommend (for all child seats) to always test-install the seat in your car before purchase, so that you can be sure that it fits and suits your space requirements.
ISOfix-installed seats with an internal harness have the “standard calculation” of 33 kg minus seat weight = maximum child weight. This is based on the car’s ISOfix anchorages being approved till a maximum weight of 33 kg.
For belt-installed seats like this one, this ISOfix limitation and calculation does not apply. Instead, the manufacturer defines the maximum weight themselves.
You must stop using this seat and change to the next suitable seat when ONE of these conditions is met, whichever comes first:
1) The child is taller than 125 cm;
2) The child incl. clothes weighs more than 36 kg;
3) The shoulder height exceeds the highest position of the shoulder belts;
4) The top of the ears is above the highest point of the headrest in the highest position.
The EXO frame is part of the seat's safety concept where in the event of a frontal collision the child pushes into the seat shell, which has a rigid spine on its inside. This spine then transfers the forces to the EXO frame, which surrounds the seat on the outside. This frame then transfers the forces to the car belt and the car floor via the support leg. This construction makes the seat extremely sturdy and able to take very high forces, even from children/dummies weighing up to 36 kg.
In the most extended position you can get up to 26 cm leg space. This leg space is independent of how deep your vehicle seat is, as this seat is equipped with a front brace that extends to give your child the large leg space.
The front brace of this seat can be adjusted in 5 different positions.
If you want to remove the front brace from this seat, for example for storing or shipping the seat, you can do this with the right tools. Turn the seat upside down. On the bottom side of the seat base you see two small holes. When you pull the front brace out as much as you can, you can see a grey hook showing in the hole, which stops the front brace from being pulled out completely. Take a tool, for example a flat-headed screwdriver, and push the hooks down while pulling the front brace further out (while pulling the handle on the front brace).
This seat already offers a very good recline. But if you have extremely steep vehicle seats and want to install the child seat a bit less upright, you can do this by having a small gap between front brace and sitting area of the vehicle seat - as long as these conditions are fulfilled:
1. the front of the base (near the support leg) has to rest on the vehicle seat (so the seat is not fully hovering)
2. the support leg is maximum vertical, and not at a negative angle (i.e. not pointing towards the vehicle seat that the child seat is on)
3. the overall installation is very sturdy
When installing this seat on the passenger seat, please check the following aspects:
1. As with all child seats on the passenger seat, you should still be able to see the side mirror of your car
2. You should have a minimum distance of 5 cm between the highest point of the seat or child's head and the front window
If you are changing the recline angle frequently, we recommend to install the seat in the 2nd front brace position. This way the seat is still compact in its installation but accessing the recline handle is easier.

Bombol
No, the Pop-Up™ Booster is not a car seat. It is to be used on adult chairs at home or in restaurants.
You can start using the Pop-Up™ Booster from the moment your baby can sit up by themselves without wobbling and without help (usually from 6-9 months depending on individual development).
The booster can hold up to 75kg without a problem, so the weight limit is not an issue. We dropped 75kg onto the Pop-Up Booster 20,000 times to comply with the international safety standard for furniture, EN 1728:2012. It didn't break.
Yes. The Pop-Up™ Booster complies with the international safety standard for boosters, EN 16120:2014 and ASTM F2640. It is also certified with the international safety standard for furniture, EN 1728:2012. We dropped 75kg onto Pop-Up for 20,000
and it didn’t break.
Besides this, it complies with REACH and CPSIA chemical standards: so no harmful substances for your baby.
The age limits are prescribed by the safety norms that are applicable in your area. The Pop-Up™ booster is compliant with the EU booster safety norms which puts a limit of 3 years old or 15kg. The Pop-Up™ booster is equally compliant with the U.S. booster safety norms which put a limit of 5 years. They are different because the mechanical tests used to certify the product are different. The toughest one is the US where a booster needs to survive 500 poundings with 22.7kg (50 lbs). To be on the safe side, we tested the Pop-Up™ booster with 20.000 poundings of 75kg, in other words it was submitted to the same test as an adult chair. It passed.
We don’t know about any other padded booster seats that weighs just 1.0 kg / 2.2 pounds and you can slide into your bag and pop open when you need it. It is like Mary Poppins’ magical bag.
On pretty much all chairs, yes. The large shoulder strap of the bag doubles up as large safety belts which run under and behind the chair. So as long as it’s not a closed-in sofa-like chair, the Pop-Up™ Booster can be safely mounted.
Yes. The fabric has a non-toxic coating that resists water and even tomato sauce and olive oil. The seat and backrest are a continuous surface, so no food can get trapped in the seams.
Just a rinse and a wipe, and the booster is good as new. Mess tends to go everywhere, so we also made the belt entirely detachable so you can wash it in the washing machine.
If your child is already old enough to sit steadily by himself you can: extend the crotch strap to maximum length, therefore, lifting the entire set of harness to accommodate for your baby’s longer torso, or, actually detach the shoulder straps from the central buckle and use only the 3-point harness. The shoulder straps are meant for smaller babies for extra security, but not mandatory to use according to international safety standards.
The Pop-Up™ Booster comes with a super-safe five-way harness. The shoulder straps are elastic to guarantee maximum comfort and you don’t need to adjust the shoulder straps when the booster is used by more children. When your child outgrows the shoulder straps, you can detach these straps from the central buckle and just use the 3-point harness.
The Pop-Up™ Booster can be a bit hard to open when it is new. Here is a video that shows the way to open it.
First, The Bamboo 3Dknit™ Bouncer is not just a traditional bouncer for babies. It transforms from a cradling hammock with bespoke support for newborns that prevents slumping, to a comfy chair that stimulates a baby's wriggling skills, to a lounger for 5-year-old toddlers, extending the bouncer’s lifetime by a couple of years.
Second, it does not just bounce gently to soothe your baby; the patented Dynamic Backrest (DBR) gives your baby the freedom to change position from playing to resting without your help.
Third, you can adjust the bouncer in an infinite amount of positions without removing your baby or disturbing their rest. And a nice bonus is the minimal and elegant design that blends seamlessly into any contemporary interior.
Aluminium is a very elastic and very resistant lightweight material. The thin design of the upper part allows the bouncer to translate even the smallest movements of the baby into gentle bouncing. The patented 3D curves make the thin aluminium bar mechanically sound and extremely resistant. The result of this delicate mix is a frame with amazing precision mechanics. Plus, because there’s no regulating mechanism, there are fewer parts to potentially break.
A traditional bouncer traps your baby into one of 3 inclinations of the fixed sitting position you choose for her or him. The Bamboo 3Dknit™ Bouncer gives your baby freedom of movement thanks to the Dynamic Backrest (DBR). This patented feature works a bit like an articulated office chair that follows your movements while giving you good support. In other words, the chair adapts to the child, not vice versa. This very ergonomic solution helps your baby actively discover his or her body and develop muscles and movement coordination.
The Bamboo 3Dknit™ Bouncer has no regulating mechanisms, buttons or electronic gadgets. It is designed to operate autonomously to give your child maximum comfort and give you peace of mind.
The only thing you can operate is the lock for the Dynamic Backrest (DBR). And should your baby want to rest while sitting up, all you have to do is unlock the DBR and bring your baby gently to the resting position without disturbing them.
During our research, we considered bamboo as a material, which is widely used in Asia for its combination of low weight, strength, and flexibility. Although bamboo alone didn’t prove adequate for our bouncer’s construction, it became the reference point of what we wanted to achieve with our design.
It’s virtually impossible for a child to break the frame because of the absence of a delicate regulating mechanism. When your child jumps onto the bouncer, it can fold in two without the risk of breaking. The 3D curve makes sure that the frame returns right back to the same position.
If you wish to store the Bamboo 3Dknit™ Bouncer you can quickly take the frame apart and pack it away. Please do not keep the Bamboo 3Dknit™ Bouncer forcefully deformed as it causes permanent deformation of the frame.
The seat cover is machine washable with cold water and mild detergent. Do NOT use softener.
The Bamboo 3DKnit™ Bouncer is suitable for babies from about 3,5 kg or 7,7 lbs.
Your child can sit in the Bamboo 3Dknit™ Bouncer as long as it feels comfortable for him or her. Rests are also fine as long as it is not for extended periods of time. Please remember, a baby bouncer does not substitute a bed. For this reason, we recommend keeping an eye on your child’s needs and regularly taking them out of the baby bouncer for sleep.
Absolutely! The Bamboo 3Dknit™ Bouncer has been fully and exclusively tested by Intertek, the renowned and accredited external safety institute. The Bamboo 3Dknit™ Bouncer complies with the strict European safety norm EN 12790:2009 (Child use and care articles. Reclined cradles.) and North American ASTM F2167-19, and is probably the only bouncer that also complies with EN1728:2012-clause 6.17 for adult furniture, meaning it can be safely used by children up to five years old. Every single component is compliant with the CPSIA and REACH, one of the strictest norms to date regulating chemical substances.
Don’t worry, the Bamboo 3Dknit™ Bouncer is fully certified. The reason for this odd difference lies within the nature of the certifications. The norm EN 12790:2009 (Child use and care articles, reclined cradles) is designed for traditional bouncers and only allows certification for 6 kg or 9kg, full stop. Part of the certification requirements is that the maximum weight is indicated permanently on the product. So Bombol has to carry the 9kg limit on the label. Bamboo’s innovation lies in the fact that it’s not only a plain baby bouncer but that it can be transformed into a sturdy chaise longue. So, Bamboo has a second certification - EN 1728:2012 - as furniture to “upgrade” its weight limit to 18kg.
The Bamboo 3Dknit™ Bouncer went through some serious testing before claiming to be the toughest of its kind. The EN 1728:2012 requires the bouncer to withstand 20,000 drop cycles of 100 kg on the seat and 30 kg on the backrest without any damage.
The fabric is easy to take off and should be machine-washed separately (30°C). Please remove the inserted rigid supports from their internal pockets before washing. We recommend a gentle, bleach-free detergent. Do not tumble dry. Do not iron. It would damage the 3D spacer.
No, the Bamboo 3Dknit™ Bouncer comes all in. There is no need for add-ons to extend the functionality.
We’ve taken several steps to reduce the environmental footprint of the Bamboo 3Dknit™ Bouncer.
First, we’ve extended the lifetime of the product as much as possible because what is not thrown away does not pollute. We encourage you to pass on the bouncer frame (after checking it’s still in good working order) and only change the fabric seat if needed.
Second, by counting on you to do part of assembling the frame, we reduce the packing size. Smaller packaging reduces shipping air, and thus reduces the carbon emission from transportation.
And third, what happens with Bombol when you don’t need it anymore? Bamboo is almost entirely made of recyclable materials. The materials are unified as much as possible to make differentiated recycling easy: the frame is almost entirely aluminium, the seat fabrics and 3D spacer are entirely polyester, and the supports are 100% PE, which can be recycled with your plastic bottles.
A quick wipe with sanitizing or disinfecting wipes does not disinfect an object. They only work on hard surfaces and not on soft ones like fabric.
Disinfecting wipes contain chemical solutions that need time to work, generally a few minutes. During this “contact time”, you should leave the disinfectant on the surface without drying or rinsing it. After the contact time is up, you can rinse off the chemical residue.>
These chemical solutions, including disinfecting alcohol, can also damage certain surfaces like touch screens. All mobile device companies prohibit the use of disinfectants on their screens. Some allow for a ‘gentle application’ of 70% isopropyl alcohol (70% IPA), but this concentration is not strong enough to kill all the germs.
UV-C light disinfection utilizes the shortest wavelength of the ultraviolet light. At these wavelengths, the high-energy light waves destroy the nucleic acids and break apart DNA and RNA of any living organism, preventing bacteria and viruses to reproduce.
UV-C light does not leave chemical residues behind, does not produce harmful smelly ozone and produces no waste. It kills the nasties without hurting the planet.
No, not all UV light is capable of sanitizing. UV light can be divided in 3 major categories: UV-A, UV-B, and UV-C based on their wavelengths.
• UV-A (315 nm to 400 nm) gives you that nice summer tan.
• UV-B (280 to 315 nm) is less friendly and responsible for sun burns.
• UV-C (100 nm to 280 nm) is the most dangerous because it is extremely effective at disrupting the genetic makeup of any living organism.
This is why only UV-C light is highly effective in killing bacteria and inactivating viruses.
Blast UV™ has a disinfection rate of 99.9998% for the tested bacteria Staphylococcus Aureus and Escherichia Coli (SGS Test Report n. GZF20-026061-01) and 99.9921% for the Human Coronavirus 229E (SGS Test Report n. XMF20-007600-01), compared to the average disinfection rate of 99.9% for bacteria of most UV-C disinfecting or sanitizing devices out there.
To compare, you should not look at the UV-C source power output, but the “UV-C dose”. It means that to be fully disinfected, an object needs to be exposed by strong enough UV-C radiation for a long enough period of time from all sides.
Thanks to the combination of the 3 ultra-powerful UV-C LEDs to make sure the UV-C radiation is still strong enough when it reaches the bottom of Blast UV™ and the ultra-reflective UV-C lining to make the most of the emitted UV-C light, Blast UV™ delivers a blistering UV-C dose of 80mJ/cm2 in 5 minutes. That’s almost 10 times what is needed to kill common bacteria in lab test conditions.
To guarantee enough UV-C radiation everywhere - even at the bottom of Blast UV™ - we use 3 ultra-powerful, sapphire, gold-plated 20mW UV-C LEDs.
It is common believe that mirror or metallic surfaces reflect all light, but the truth is they absorb quite a bit of the UV-C light. To make the most from the all the UV-C light from the powerful LED’s, Blast UV™ uses the high-tech Porex Virtek® lining that reflects more than 80% of the UV-C light, thus intensifying the UV-C dose at the surface of the object.
Unlike metallic or reflective surfaces, Porex Virtek® is also UL-F2 certified, meaning it cannot oxidize or be altered by UV-C light so it will remain efficient over time.
And last, the UL-F2 certification means that Porex Virtek® is a guaranteed barrier against the high energy UV-C radiation. A bit like lead for radioactive radiation. In other words, it makes sure no harmful UV-C light can escape.
First, the Porex Virtek® lining has a 360° Lambertian reflective effect. It means that it scatters the reflected UV-C light in all directions, reaching every corner inside Blast UV™. Second, your object sits suspended on a transparent surface, so the UV-C light can reach the underside of your object.
These two design features means that you don’t need to flip your object over for a second disinfection cycle.
Don't just take our word for it. Blast UV™ was tested by SGS International to certify the efficacy against bacteria and viruses. The test was not performed with the pathogens up close to the LEDs, but 75 mm distance which is the furthest point an object can be from the LEDs inside Blast UV™.
And even at that distance, Blast UV™ delivers a blistering UV-C Dose of 80mJ/cm2 that is 10 times the amount of energy you need to inactivate common bacteria.
Yes! Blast UV™ was tested by UL and SGS International to certify the compliance with:
• The safety international standards such as American UL499, Canadian CSA 22.2 n64, European EN 60335-1
• The electromagnetic standards EMC and FCC.
• The chemical substance regulations REACH and ROHS standards that means it is free of lead, phthalate, and other banned, harmful substances.
• Blast UV™ doesn’t create or release harmful ozone.
SGS Laboratories tested the efficacy against bacteria such as Staphylococcus Aureus and Escherichia Coli and virus such as Human Coronavirus 229E (ASTM and TGA Sars-Cov-2 recommended surrogate). Inactivation rate was more than 99.999% for bacteria and more than 99.99% for the virus tests.
Yes. While it is true that prolonged exposure to UV rays can discolour certain materials, the level of UV-C exposure during a disinfection cycle is enough to destroy germs, bacteria and inactivate viruses but not nearly enough to damage your devices or objects in any way.
UV-C light is not it corrosive unlike many disinfecting chemicals, making UV-C disinfection by far a safer alternative for your objects.
If it fits, you can disinfect it. Some of the most common items you can disinfect are pacifiers, baby bottles, cutlery, phones, face masks, keys, jewellery, watches, remote controls, eyeglasses, pens, wallets, credit cards, and makeup.
Blast UV™ can also fit the largest models of the most popular brands including Apple, Samsung, Huawei and Xiaomi as well as an 11 ounces baby milk bottle.
UV-C light is harmful to all living organisms, including humans. So never check by looking at a working LED as UV-C light is invisible anyways.
That is why we designed a clever way to show you safely on the outside that the UV-C LEDs on the inside are working correctly. Each of the 3 LED’s has a corresponding black thermochromic dot on the outside of top lid. When the UV-C LEDs are switched on, they warm up, which in turn makes the thermochromic dots change from black to red. Once the cycle is finished, the LED’s cool instantly, and the thermochromic dots slowly turn back to black. It’s a simple yet reliable way for Blast UV™ to make the invisible visible, safely.
While UV-C tube lamps are still used in many UV-C sanitizers today, it’s an old technology with many downsides. They are not power-efficient, contain lots of mercury, are fragile and can take up to 30 minutes warm up time resulting in long disinfection times. They can also produce heat and harmful ozone. They’re also short lived with a maximum operating life of around 1000 hours, meaning they are likely to stop working after only a few months of use. Lastly, they will be globally banned soon because of the mercury toxicity thanks to the Minamata Convention.
UV-C LEDs on the other side - like those used in Blast UV™ - have high efficiency and low power consumption, are mercury-free and shock-resistant, activate instantly and last up to 10,000 hours or approximately 10 years of normal daily use. This makes them the best choice for a portable UV-C disinfector.
No. Many UV-C disinfectors or sanitizers like the wand models can accidentally expose the user to direct UV-C light. These cannot pass the safety regulations, and therefore cannot be certified.
Blast UV™ is safe and certified because it is designed to turn on ONLY when the 3 safety interlocks are all engaged so the disinfection chamber is completely sealed. If the box is accidentally opened when the UV-C LEDs are on, they will be instantly switched off. This safety mechanism is independently certified by UL. The UVC disinfection process will resume once the box is closed again.
In addition, the Porex Virtek® is one of the few high-tech UL-F2 certified materials, meaning it acts as a barrier to UV-C light.
These two features combined guarantee there is no risk to accidental high-energy UV-C light exposure.
Blast UV™ comes with a USB-C to USB-A cable and requires a USB-C power input of 5V/1A. Blast UV™ can be powered by a USB-A wall adapter, car charger, computer or any power bank, so it is easy to use anywhere, any time.
Yes. Blast UV™ does not contain a battery, so you can drop it either in your carry-on bag or check-in baggage.

Moova
Yes, it is very easy and safe to put your baby in the Moova baby carrier without the help of others. The Moova baby carrier is one of the easiest on the market thanks to its pre-set crossed shoulder straps and adjustable panel that you can zipper down when you put your baby in the carrier. This makes your daily routine a lot easier, since you'll likely need to get your baby in and out of the carrier several times a day when feeding, sleeping, sitting by yourself or when getting in and out of the car.
When babies resist being carried in a baby carrier or sling, it's usually because they feel too confined with too few options for movement. Moova's adjustable back panel allows you to give your baby the perfect amount of support and freedom. We have never heard of a baby not feeling comfortable in a properly adjusted Moova baby carrier. If you're in doubt and you have a baby with a history of discomfort in carriers, it's a good idea to try out the Moova baby carrier in a store.
Yes, the Moova baby carrier is ergonomic for both your baby and yourself. In the first month of life, you can choose to place your baby's feet in the panel so he is in the frog position, which means he is bent at the hip joint and there is not much space between the knees. This position is recommended by leading pediatric orthopedists. You can also adjust the width of the panel to support your baby's thighs and extend to both of your baby's knees, placing your baby's lower legs outside the carrier. This position places your baby in the optimal so-called M-position, where the knees are slightly higher than your baby's buttocks. This also applies to the hip and back position. The Moova baby carrier is pending approval by 'The International Hip Dysplasia Institute' as hip-friendly.
Yes, as long as you adjust the height of the back panel to adequately support your baby's head.
As long as your baby is comfortable and can stay warm when you are outside. However, always pay close attention to your baby's signals and make sure you don't keep your baby in the same position for too long.
It is a special zipper from the world's leading quality manufacturer, YKK. The type is called auto-lock and includes a mechanism that holds the slider in place until you actively pull the pull tab. The Moova baby carrier has been tested and certified by an outside testing agency to withstand a very large number of dynamic shocks from a 20 kg test dummy.
Yes, you can. The parts your baby can come into contact with are all Oeko-Tex Standard 100 certified, including the super-soft cotton fabric.
From when your baby weighs 3,5 kg to when he weighs 20 kg - usually around the age of 3-4 years.
You can carry your baby on your stomach, hip and back.
We made a conscious decision not to carry the baby carrier forward for several reasons. We are convinced that the forward-facing position is the wrong solution to a real problem. The real problem for many babies in existing designs is that they are too enclosed and don't have enough outward visibility. This contradicts the instincts of many children and their urge to experience the world. Our solution is to give your baby enough freedom of movement and view in the optimal inward-facing position. So far, no baby has protested sitting in this position in the Moova baby carrier. At the same time, you support your baby's motor development.
Most babies begin to actively stretch around 3 months of age and orient themselves more to the world. And by 3 months, most babies can hold their heads upright. Therefore, it is an excellent time to put your baby on your hip when doing things at home or on the go. It is very easy to move from the tummy to the hip position and vice versa. Your baby will undoubtedly enjoy being able to follow what you are doing.
We recommend using the supine position starting at about 6 months of age. Under no circumstances use the supine position until the baby can sit upright without support and has full control of his head. Many parents choose to use the supine position when their baby is about 1 year old because it often feels too heavy to carry in the front.
The Moova baby carrier is adjustable and can therefore be used by all parents.
Yes, wash at up to 30 degrees. Make sure all buckles are secure and excess strap ends are rolled up and enclosed by the elastic holders. If possible, use a laundry bag or else a pillowcase with a button or zipper. Hang to dry. Do not use a clothes dryer.
Sleepytroll
Sleepytroll is a wonderful sleeping aid, but it does not work on all babies. Does your baby like being in the stroller or crib, and like being rocked? Then chances are it will work wonders!
The Sleepytroll should always be mounted vertically, as mounting it in any other ways will put excessive pressure on the motor. It is also important to tighten the strap, as the stroller/car seat/crib should be moving, not the Sleepytroll. Close charger port when charging is finished. Sleepytroll can be used in temperatures from -10C/14F to 35C/95F. Please read the manual for information on the correct storage when storing over time.
'Bed Rocker Feet' works on cribs with wooden legs that are not heavier than 22kg (excluding the weight of mattress, beddings, and baby).
You would need to drill 3mm holes in the wooden legs.
Is your baby’s bed already rockable by hand? Then you might not need the 'Bed Rocker Feet'. Is there somewhere to add the Sleepytroll vertically (important!) on the bed? Then you might not need the 'Bed Adapter'. However, if you are not able to rock the bed by hand and there is nowhere to hang Sleepytroll vertically on the bed you would need both.
When not in use, remove the charger from the wall and store the product in a dry place out of direct sunlight and out of reach of children. When storing the product for long periods, be sure to charge at least twice a year to prevent deterioration in performance due to self-discharging and choose a storage area where the temperature is between +10ºC and +30ºC. Clean the product with a cloth dampened with water only. Do not use soap or chemicals on the cloth.
Despite the extra cost, we have decided to use NiMH batteries in Sleepytroll as they are safer than lithium-ion batteries because they contain less active material. When selling a product that operates in the vicinity of a baby safety is of the utmost importance. NiMH batteries can also be brought on airplanes, both in hand luggage and checked bags.
Yes, Sleepytroll is CE and FCC certified. Sleepytroll is extensively safety tested by TÜV, a global product testing company.
No. Sleepytroll is designed to mimic the movement of a parent rocking and will not void your stroller’s guarantee.
Ergopouch
It depends on your child's age and development. We have ergoPouch products suitable for different stages, from newborn to toddler. As a guideline, we recommend the following products:
Cocoon swaddling bag
For newborns and babies who are not yet rolling. From the moment your baby rolls, you can open the armholes at the shoulders so your baby can sleep with his arms out. Suitable until the age of +/- 12 months.
Jersey sleeping bag
Slim fit sleeping bag for arm-out sleepers, the ideal first sleeping bag. Suitable from 3 months up to +/- 24 months.
Sheeting sleeping bag
Roomy sleeping bag for arm-out sleepers. Ideal for older babies and toddlers from 3 months.
Sleepsuit sleeping bag
Convertible sleeping bag to sleeping suit, for sleepers with arms out. Suitable from 3 months, but we recommend the Sleep Suit Bag as soon as your little one can walk and up to +/- 6 years old.
You choose the right TOG value of the product based on the temperature of your child's sleeping environment. A handy thermometer is included with each sleeping bag (or blanket).
TOG stands for Thermal Overall Grade and is a unit of measurement for insulation and warmth of sleepwear and bedding. Simply put, the lower the TOG rating, the lighter the fabric. The higher the rating, the better padded and insulated. With sleepwear with a TOG rating, you don't need extra blankets. You choose an appropriate TOG based on the temperature of the room your child sleeps in.
These TOGs are suitable for the room temperatures listed below:
0.2 and 0.3 TOG = 24°C.
1.0 TOG = 21°C - 24°C
2.5 TOG = 17°C - 23°C
3.5 TOG = 14°C - 21°C
To take the guesswork out of dressing for bed, consult the thermometer and dressing guide to determine the correct TOG value and how many and which layers your child should wear.
According to safe sleep guidelines, it is recommended that your baby sleep with the face and head uncovered and without bedding, pillows and toys in the crib or crib. Therefore, our wraps, sleeping bags and sleep suits are designed to replace bedding. To ensure that the little face is always free, ergoPouch bags are designed to not unravel, have a connecting neck and armholes. For the same reason, the sleeping bags do not have a hood.
Safety is paramount when designing an ergoPouch product. All ergoPouch sleeping bags are tested for product safety and the products are designed for safe sleeping.
Yes. The fabrics are independently certified as non-toxic and free of harmful metals and chemicals such as lead and formaldehyde. Water-based dyes are used so there are no harmful chemicals in the ink. The organic cotton is GOTS certified.
ergoPouch is rated as safe for children who suffer from eczema irritation. Eczema is associated with a number of triggers, including weather, clothing, chemicals and air conditioning or overheating. To help prevent eczema flare-ups at night while sleeping, eczema sufferers benefit from sleeping in natural, chemical-free fibers that are breathable and do not irritate their skin at night. All ergoPouch sleepwear is made of breathable, natural fibers, including certified organic cotton dyed with water-based dyes. They are certified non-toxic and contain no chemicals.
In the first few days after birth, a newborn has a startle reflex. This reflex causes the hands and body to 'scare' during sleep, and this movement can often wake or upset a baby. Using a swaddling bag can help avoid this sudden movement and prevent a baby from waking up. Swaddling can also have a calming effect and help a baby fall asleep by giving them a sense of security similar to their experience in the womb.
Our Cocoon swaddling sleeping bag also has the following benefits:
- Regulates baby's body temperature in the early stages.
- Security, by mimicking the feeling of being in the womb.
- Can help baby focus on feeding.
- Prevents baby from scratching himself with his nails.
- Swaddling stands for longer sleep for everyone!
It is important to choose the right size for your baby's weight. Do not be tempted to go up a size in order to use the swaddle bag longer. Use the size chart to easily and quickly find the most suitable size for your baby. If you are pregnant, we recommend to buy a Newborn and a 0-3 months swaddle bag.
You choose an appropriate TOG based on the temperature of the room your baby sleeps in. To take the guesswork out of dressing your little one for bedtime, consult our dressing guide to determine the appropriate TOG value and number of layers of clothing/textiles.
- Open the Cocoon swaddling bag and place it on a low, flat surface.
- Place your baby on top and zipper it up at the bottom.
- You can choose to place the arms along the side or across the chest as you zip it up.
- To change the diaper, unzip the bottom to clear the legs and lower body.
- To transition to sleeping with arms out, open the arm buttons at the shoulders.
- Place your baby with their feet against the end of the crib or crib bed.
We recommend starting with at least two Cocoon swaddling bags, one to wear and one to wash. With different room temperatures during the day and night, it's best to choose two swaddling bags in each TOG grade.
- The neck should be snug.
- To check that it is not too tight, you should be able to put two fingers in the neck hole when it is worn.
- Be careful not to swaddle too tightly.
- Hips and legs should be able to move outward while the baby sleeps.
- A (too) tight wrap over the hips, can contribute to the development of dysplasia of the hip (DDH).
- Babies cannot regulate their body heat well and rely on their clothing (and sleep textiles) to keep them warm, but not too warm. Do not overdress a baby in the swaddling bag and never cover their head while sleeping (with a hat or beanie, for example).
- Choose a TOG-rated sleeping bag, such as our Cocoon swaddling bag.
- Swaddling should be safe, without the fabric falling over the baby's face.
It is time to teach your baby how to sleep with their arms out of the swaddling sleeping bag when they begin to show signs of rolling from their back onto their stomach. We recommend leaving only one arm 'out' at first so your baby has time to get used to this new way of sleeping. They may have a few restless sleeps, but this is normal when transitioning to something new, so try with one arm first for 1 or 2 weeks and then with the other.
In an ErgoPouch Cocoon swaddling sleeping bag, your baby cannot get their arms all the way up to the sides of their head. Instead, our "swaddles" are made of a stretchy fabric so the arms can move naturally. We find that babies wriggle their little arms and hands into the position that is most comfortable for them. The pouch is stretchy enough so your baby can reach their mouth if they prefer to suck.
If your newborn baby prefers to sleep with his arms out (i.e. not swaddled), that's fine too! Just open the arm buttons to let the arms out. The Cocoon swaddling sleeping bag is still the warmest, safest solution for non-swaddled newborn babies while sleeping.
To meet safety requirements, our Cocoon swaddling bags have a secure fit around the neck, shoulders and chest to prevent your little one from slipping in. A quick way to check if the neck is too tight is to see if you can insert 2 fingers into the neck opening. If you can, the fit is good. If you are still annoyed that the opening is too small, we recommend loosening the zipper about 1 cm down with the zipper protector still over it.
The Cocoon swaddling bag is not available in a higher TOG than 2.5. This is to reduce the risk of overheating by dressing a baby too warm to sleep. A young baby cannot regulate his body temperature like an older child or adult can, and has not yet developed the ability to sweat when he is too hot. If you notice your baby waking up because he is too cold, consider adding more layers underneath or using a light layer such as the Tuck swaddle blanket (for babies who are not yet rolling).
If your baby sleeps with his arms out and is older than 12 weeks, a 3.5 TOG sleeping bag may be appropriate for him or her.
A sleeping bag is suitable for babies and toddlers who are past the swaddling phase, usually from about 3-4 months of age. If you have a baby who is younger and rolls, or a newborn who does not like swaddling, our Cocoon swaddling sleeping bag is still the safest option for them to use, with opened arm openings (using the snaps).
Base your decision on your child's weight and height. Our sleeping bags are suitable for children aged 3-12 months, 8-24 months, 2-4 years and 4-6 years. Consult the size chart for the correct measurements. A sleeping bag should fit snugly around the neck and armholes to prevent your baby from "slipping" into it. The bottom should also be bell-shaped so that little legs can move easily.
The Jersey sleeping bag is made of a soft and stretchy knitted organic cotton jersey fabric (similar to a t-shirt). Because of its slim fit and stretchability, we recommend using the Jersey sleeping bag for an easier transition from swaddling to a sleeping bag.
The Sheeting sleeping bag is made of a 400 thread count woven fabric (similar to a fitted sheet) with elastic jersey side panels. The Sheeting sleeping bag has a wider fit than the Jersey sleeping bag and is suitable for babies who like a little more room to move around in their sleeping bag, such as older babies and toddlers.
We designed the ergonomic panels for two reasons:
- When a baby begins to squirm, the stretch panels allow for comfortable movement and prevent entanglement.
- The stretch panels help with breathability, preventing temperature fluctuations and overheating.
Sleeping with natural fibers can help your baby get a better night's sleep. Natural fibers wick moisture away from the skin and provide even warmth and body temperature.
ErgoPouch products are made of organic cotton and our 2.5 TOG and 3.5 TOG products are filled with organic cotton. So they are all highly breathable and keep babies warm without overheating. Synthetic fillings such as polyester do not have the same qualities and can cause temperature fluctuations at night, contributing to dangerous overheating. Heat retention can also be a problem for babies with eczema, worsening their condition.
We choose organic cotton because it's better for the environment and for your child. Growing organic cotton uses fewer artificial elements such as chemicals and pesticides, it helps keep the soil healthy, and fewer chemicals are used in the production process. Therefore, organic cotton is more sustainable, safe and environmentally friendly than its regular counterpart.
This is a common problem! Our sleeping bags are made to keep little fingers away from the zippers with extra large zipper guards. However, some children are very good at "escaping," so we recommend turning the sleeping bag inside out so they can't reach the zipper puller.
We have found that it is better to put the sleeping bag in a 'full' wash. A 'full' wash distributes the water more evenly and prevents the sleeping bag from absorbing most of the water. We recommend air-drying the sleeping bag first and then drying it on a low tumble setting to keep the fibers fluffy.
This can sometimes occur with our organic cotton stuffing after the first wash. The reason is that small (and random) pieces of organic cotton buds get stuck in the filling of some ergoPouch sleeping bags. Because the organic cotton filling of ergoPouch sleeping bags is not chemically bleached, the pigment from these small stuck buttons ends up on the material during the first wash.
At ergoPouch they have done several tests with a stain remover and in 99% of cases the stains go right out. It's understandable if you don't want to use chemicals, baking soda works just as well.
Yes, our 3.5 TOG Sheeting sleeping bag comes with sleeves, suitable for room temperatures below 21°C.
An award-winning design created for children who move their legs a lot while sleeping and do not like to lie in a sleeping bag. This 2-in-1 design can be converted from a sleeping bag to a sleepsuit with legs using zippers. Ideal for toddlers who want more leg freedom while sleeping, our use in a 5-point harness such as a stroller or car seat. Do not use a 2.5 TOG or 3.5 TOG product in a car seat as it can cause overheating.
The sleeping bag can be used from 3 months of age, once your little one is rolling and has switched from swaddling to relaxed sleep.
The Sleepsuit sleeping bag is available in three sizes:
- 3-12 months: Best used as a sleeping bag.
- 8-24 months: We recommend switching to sleepsuit from 12-15 months, when your little one starts walking.
- 2-4 years: We recommend using the Sleepsuit sleeping bag only as a sleepsuit to prevent injury if your child climbs into the crib or leaves the crib at night.
Because a baby regulates his body temperature through his arms and head, the sleeves of the ergoPouch 2.5 TOG and 3.5 TOG bags are not padded.
The sleeping bags are TOG rated, which means they have an insulation rating that makes them warm enough to be used for sleeping without loose bedding, and are designed to replace blankets. According to safe sleeping guidelines, it is recommended that your child sleep in the crib with the face and head uncovered, free of loose bedding, pillows and toys.
Included in the package of your Sleepsuit sleeping bag is a thermometer and dressing guide. Place the thermometer in your child's sleeping area to check the room temperature. Once the room temperature has been determined, use the chart as a guide for the correct combination of TOG and under layers. The sleeping bag is available in four different TOGs to ensure a child always sleeps comfortably. The organic cotton fibers are thermo-regulating and breathable to maintain a comfortable and safe sleeping temperature.
This ranges from a diaper to underwear if your child is potty-trained to warm pajamas/onesie, depending on the room temperature. Follow our dressing guide (enclosed in the package) to determine layers depending on the room temperature and TOG you are using. All ergoPouch's under layers are also TOG rated to make dressing for bedtime easy.
There are grip pads on the bottom of the sleeping bag for safe walking if it is necessary to go to the bathroom or sleepwalk at night. For safety, we do not recommend using the sleeping bag as clothing. Because the Sleepsuit sleeping bag acts as a sleep aid, we strongly recommend dressing your child in the Sleep Suit Bag just before bedtime to signal it is time for bed.
Your child can stop using the sleeping bag when they are ready to transition to a big bed with blankets (not before age 2). Our customers tell us that this usually happens between ages 2.5 and 4.
Toddlers not only discover their legs and walking once they reach toddler age, but their development of fine motor skills often results in discovering zippers and buttons on their sleeping bag. It is not uncommon for a toddler to take off his sleeping bag as soon as you put him to bed.
Use the product as a sleep suit instead of a sleeping bag. As a sleeping bag, your wriggling toddler may need the freedom of his legs to sleep soundly. Try out the sleep suit to see if it makes a difference.
Change the TOG. In some cases, your toddler may be too warm. If this is the case, check the room temperature and the TOG you are using. Go to a lighter TOG if necessary.
Make sure the zipper protection is in place. This protection is a fabric flap with a snap button that goes over the zipper to prevent curious fingers from reaching the zipper and unzipping it. If your toddler has discovered the zipper and nothing can stop him from unzipping and removing the sleeping bag, try putting it on backwards or inside out.
Try a different color or print. We are often told by parents that their child prefers a particular color or print from our range. Wearing their favorite color can help your toddler or preschooler fall asleep more easily.
