iZi Go Modular X1 i-Size voted best baby car seat

Following the excellent results of the iZi Modular X1 I-Size in the ADAC/Stiftung Warentest, the iZi Go Modular X1 i-Size has now picked up some awards too. With a score of 8,7 out of 10 this baby car seat from BeSafe came out on top in the safety test of the Norwegian Automobile Federation!

Who tested what, and how?

For this car seat test, the NAF cooperated with the Swedish Testfakta. A total of 9 baby car seats were assessed, 7 of which had been approved under the i-Size safety standard and 2 under the old R44 regulations.

All baby car seats were subjected to a series of user and crash tests, while their user-friendliness was observed and frontal and side impact collisions were simulated. The criteria they used for this assessment were even stricter than those under which the car seats were actually approved.

The importance of sitting against the direction of travel

The test showed once again how important it is to transport your child facing the rear of the car for as long as possible, because the risk of neck and head injuries is significantly lower than when the child is transported facing the front.

The two baby car seats that had been approved according to the old R44 regulations performed remarkably worse than their i-Size counterparts. This is due to the fact that these car seats were never tested for side impact crashes.

Why are these results so important?

It is not for nothing that The BeSafe baseline is "Scandinavian Safety". Since 1963 the Norwegian brand has made it its mission to bring the safest car seats for children onto the market.

BeSafe introduced their very first rear-facing car seat more than 30 years ago. This was initially met with astonishment, but is now part of the latest i-Size safety standard.

Because the NAF and Testfakta decided to set even stricter requirements for their evaluation it goes without saying that the safety of the car seats was really put to the test. So we can safely say that the Scandinavian countries know what they are talking about when it comes to car seat safety. ;-)
