First Aid for inconsolability

One of the many challenges of parenthood is trying to calm an inconsolable baby. Fortunately, there are a number of 'tricks' that can help! One of the best-known is rocking. This can, of course, be done in Mum's or Dad's arms... But today there are practical and safe aids available ... that leave your hands free for other things!

Why rock?

Gently rocking back and forth has a calming effect on babies (and toddlers) because they're still familiar with this movement from when they were in their mother's womb. This gives them a sense of comfort and security, so they fall asleep faster and sleep more soundly.

And that's not all...

Babies suffering from colic and/or digestive problems can also benefit greatly! For example, it can help prevent the build-up of gas in the tummy, reducing your little one's discomfort and improving digestion.

Finally, it can also help stimulate your baby's cognitive development. In fact, research has shown that rocking can increase alertness, improve attention span and even stimulate language acquisition!

TIP | To relieve some tired (arms), the practical Sleepytroll has been developed! This automatic swing was developed by a 'desperate' Norwegian dad, who's an expert in the field! Sleepytroll is rechargeable and can be attached (with accessories) to a baby carriage, cradle, playpen or playpen. This 'baby swing' will 'rock' your world!

Wearing is also possible!

In addition to rocking or cradling, using an ergonomic baby carrier - like the BeSafe (Newborn) Haven - is another popular technique that can benefit your little one. Snug against mom and/or dad - body contact and security: all right! - while leaving your hands free for other activities.

As with cribs, the proximity of a parent can give a baby a sense of comfort and security. This is extremely important, especially in the first months of life, when your baby is still adjusting to the world outside the womb.

What's more, babywearing can also stimulate motor development. By being carried so close to you, he has the opportunity to observe and learn from your behavior, which can help improve language acquisition and other cognitive skills.

TIP | Curious and active babies? The Moova baby carrier features an adjustable back panel, which guarantees baby and/or toddler both support (and rest) and sufficient freedom of movement when carrying. A win-win situation!
